Today we presented the ideas we discussed earlier in our meetings as to how we define our role as 'wayfinding' and what we plan on doing to help people find there way throughout the marketplace. The feedback we got given includes;
- Think about how we want people to experience the space? Do we want them to know exactly where everything is and where they are going (through the use of maps/brochures) or do we want it be experienced as an adventure, and no one knows where they are going - suitable to the 'escapism' them.
- Think creatively about how we can help people through the space - look at precedents such as Keminoko & Co whose latest installation 'Miniature Hikes' introduced a series of small huts located across Wellingtons backyard to help hikers find they're way through each track.
Now we need to collaborate more deeply with Layout and Event Design so that we know the direction in which we are heading, also doing more creative research and finding artist precedents that help represent how people experience shopping and market spaces.
