Progress - Wednesday 09 Class

Contacted Alex about questions regarding the vinyl and where we can place things. She directed me to Jen (when we know exactly where we want things) who will put it through logistics.

Met with Alex anyway and she gave us some pointers of the practicality of our plans/other ideas/things to consider:

- Vinyl can be quite difficult: to remove, must make sure doesn't leave a mark

- Floor stickers could be hard: can't have vinyl stickers inside

- Could have string that leads to the hall (other creative, out of the box ideas)

- Liquid chalk for the windows (as an alternative to the floor)

- Suggestion of markings like on the airport tarmac guiding walk to event

- Could use paper w/ sticky back - used on laser printer

- Potentially use masking tape - can get different colours - straight lines

- Using more creative signs - not necessarily just arrows, think outside the box (different approaches to signage, doesn't have to be sticking on)

- TEST TEST TEST: Test on similiar surfaces (especially vinyl)

- Talk to Jen about putting things up around Massey, needs to be clear what we are intending to do so can be articulated to Logistics

Event Meeting - Creative Co-direction, Layout, Technical/Atmosphere (Lighting), Documentation, Wayfinding

- Designing the entrance way: told Creative CD what we intend to do and gave them the go ahead to design something

- Use of projection: reinforced we will not be projecting (lightbox instead)

- Redefining event design role - encouraged CCD to actually do event design (we are in charge of getting people to and around the event)

- Timelines: doing most of our prototyping/testing/sourcing materials this week

- Material Resources came in and talked to us about rubbish bins and locations

Went to visit the Industrial Building to talk to various people about using the vinyl cutter, the cost of vinyl and how we can get it.
